Note:

• The 96-01 model has a mechanical speedo, and continues to use the reed switch.
• The 01> model has an electronic speedo - so the separate reed switch and magnet setup shown here is no longer required.

96-01 Model

Reed switch
• Glued to a bracket and pointed end-on to the magnet.
• This switch isn't about to fall off... it's glued, then enclosed in a shrink-wrap, and the space then filled with glue!
• There's no problem with the reed switch moving out of range as you adjust the chain because the caliper carrier moves in an arc, and is always in the same postion relative to the magnet.
• The distance between the magnet and reed switch when mounted end-on is 2-3mm.
• It's best to remove the bracket at wheel-change time to avoid damage.
